How a round of blackjack plays out in True Count.

True Count mirrors real casino blackjack with precision. Every round follows the same structured flow, from placing your bet through to settlement. This section covers how the game works end to end.

Round Flow

A round of blackjack in True Count moves through these phases:

Place Your Bet

Select chips from the chip rack to build your wager. Your bet is deducted from your bankroll when you tap Deal. See Betting for the full chip system and payout structure.

Cards Are Dealt

Four cards are dealt in alternating order: Player, Dealer, Player, Dealer. The dealer's second card (the hole card) remains face-down until the dealer's turn.

Player Turn

You decide how to play your hand. Available actions (Hit, Stand, Double Down, and Split) appear contextually based on your hand and the current rules. See Hand Actions for when each action is available.

Dealer Turn

The dealer reveals the hole card and plays automatically according to house rules. The dealer has no choice. Play follows a rigid strategy. See Dealer Rules for the full dealer logic.

Round End

Results are displayed, your bankroll updates, and session statistics are recorded. You can deal again with the same bet, adjust your bet, or review your stats.

Auto-Reshuffle

The shoe reshuffles automatically when the cut card is reached. Penetration depth varies by dealer table (from 85% at Jean-Luc's table down to 50% at Aunty's). A visible cut card tracks your position in the shoe, and when it's reached, a shuffle animation plays after the current round settles. See Shuffling & Deck Penetration for details.

Blackjack Detection

After the initial deal, True Count may resolve the hand early based on naturals:

  • If the dealer shows an Ace and insurance is available and enabled, the insurance prompt appears first.
  • The dealer then peeks for blackjack whenever the upcard is an Ace or any 10-value card.
  • If the dealer upcard is a 10-value card, no insurance prompt is shown.
  • If no immediate natural outcome resolves the hand, play continues to the Player Turn.
ScenarioResult
Both have blackjackPush: bet returned
Player blackjack onlyPlayer wins at the blackjack payout rate (default 3:2)
Dealer blackjack onlyDealer wins: bet lost

This natural-resolution flow can skip the Player Turn and Dealer Turn.

After the Round

Once results are shown, the round transitions based on your bankroll:

  • Bankroll covers current bet: Tap Deal to play another hand at the same wager, or adjust your bet first.
  • Bet exceeds bankroll: You're taken back to the betting screen to set a new wager.
  • Bankroll is zero: Recover by watching a Quick Chips ad (500 credits), completing the Daily Challenge, or purchasing a credit pack.
