Chip denominations, bet building, payouts, and bankroll management.

True Count uses a dynamic chip system that scales with your bankroll. This page covers how bets work, what you get paid, and how bankroll management is handled.

Chip System

Each page of the chip rack shows five denominations from a single tier. Their values scale automatically based on your current bankroll, keeping bets proportional no matter how much you win.

Bankroll RangeBaseChip Denominations
100 – 99955, 10, 25, 50, 100
1,000 – 9,9995050, 100, 250, 500, 1,000
10,000 – 99,999500500, 1K, 2.5K, 5K, 10K
100,000 – 999,9995,0005K, 10K, 25K, 50K, 100K
1,000,000 – 9,999,99950,00050K, 100K, 250K, 500K, 1M
10,000,000+500,000500K, 1M, 2.5M, 5M, 10M

When your bankroll tier's smallest chip exceeds the table minimum, the chip rack adds a second page with denominations scaled to the table minimum. Swipe left to access lower denominations for precise minimum-bet play, swipe right to return to the bankroll-tier chips.

For example, a player with 70M credits at the Lady Lux table (25K minimum) sees two pages:

  • Bankroll page (default): 500K, 1M, 2.5M, 5M, 10M
  • Min-bet page (swipe left): 25K, 50K, 125K, 250K, 500K

When the table minimum falls within the bankroll tier, only a single page is shown — no swipe needed.

Swipeable Chip Rack

A partially visible chip on the left edge of the rack hints that more denominations are available. Swipe horizontally to switch between pages. The rack defaults to the bankroll-tier page so existing behavior is unchanged for players who don't need lower denominations.

How Chip Values Are Calculated

The app picks your tier based on the number of digits in your bankroll (the order of magnitude). Each time your bankroll crosses a power of 10, chips shift up by one tier.

Within every tier, the five chips follow the same set of multipliers applied to a base value:

MultiplierChip Position
1x baseSmallest chip
2x baseSecond chip
5x baseMiddle chip
10x baseFourth chip
20x baseLargest chip

The base value itself scales by a factor of 10 for each tier. For example, a bankroll of 1,000 gives a base of 50, while a bankroll of 10,000 gives a base of 500. The largest chip always equals the lower bound of your current tier, so you can always place a meaningful high bet in a single tap.

When a second page is needed, the min-bet page uses the table minimum as its base and applies the same five multipliers. This guarantees the first chip on the min-bet page equals exactly the table minimum — one tap to meet the minimum bet.

Minimum Bets

Each dealer table has its own minimum bet. You cannot wager less than the table minimum.

DealerMinimum Bet
Jean-Luc LaChance5
Czarita Fortuna250
"Dice Man" Jack5,000
Lady Lux25,000
Aunty "Lucky Lei"50,000

There is no maximum bet other than your current bankroll. If your bankroll is too low for a table's minimum, you can switch to a lower table to keep playing.

Building a Bet

Tap chips on the chip rack to stack them onto your bet. Each tap adds that chip's value to the total.

  • Clear Bet resets your wager to zero
  • Deal is enabled once your bet is greater than zero
  • Your bet cannot exceed your current bankroll
  • Your bet persists between rounds. Tap Deal again to replay at the same wager

Visual Feedback

Each chip you add appears as a stacked coin on screen, giving you a visual representation of your wager.

Payouts

When a round ends, outcomes are easiest to read using two values:

  • Gross Return: total credits returned to your bankroll from that wager
  • Net Result: profit or loss relative to the original bet
OutcomeGross ReturnNet Result (100 bet example)
Blackjack (natural 21)Bet + (Bet x payout rate)+150 (receive 250 at 3:2)
Player wins2 x Bet+100 (receive 200)
Push (tie)Bet returned0 (receive 100)
Player loses0-100 (receive 0)

The blackjack payout rate is configurable: 3:2 (standard), 6:5, or 1:1. See Rules Reference for how this affects the house edge.

Split and Double Bets

When you split or double down, additional bets are deducted from your bankroll:

  • Split: A second bet equal to the original is placed on the new hand. If you re-split, each additional hand gets its own bet.
  • Double Down: Your current hand's bet is doubled. The extra amount comes from your bankroll.

Each hand settles independently. Your net result for the round is the sum of all individual hand outcomes.

Bankroll

Your bankroll is your total available credits for wagering.

  • Starting amount: 1,000 credits
  • Persistence: Your bankroll carries over between sessions. Close the app and pick up where you left off
  • Bankrupt state (0 credits): Recover by watching an ad for 500 free credits, completing the Daily Challenge, or purchasing a credit pack
  • Low-balance state: If your bankroll is above zero but below your current table minimum, switch to a lower table

No Spoilers

During the dealer's turn, the bankroll display intentionally delays its update until the animation completes. This prevents the result from being revealed before the cards are shown.
