Game Center
Player profiles, leaderboards, and cross-device sync behavior in True Count.
True Count uses Apple Game Center for player identity and competitive leaderboards. Core gameplay does not require Game Center. There is no account to create, authentication uses your Apple ID.
Player Identity
Game Center connects automatically when you launch True Count. Your identity is tied to your Apple ID, so there are no signup forms, no passwords, and no separate accounts to manage.
Your display name in True Count comes from your Game Center profile. You can change it at any time in Settings > Game Center on your device.
Game Center also gives you control over who can see your profile. Three visibility options are available in your Game Center settings:
| Visibility | Who Can See You |
|---|---|
| Everyone | All True Count players |
| Friends Only | Only players on your Game Center friends list |
| No One | Your profile is hidden from other players |
Zero-Friction Setup
If you are signed into your Apple ID, you are signed into True Count. There is nothing to configure. Open the app and start playing.
Leaderboards
True Count has two leaderboards, both ranked by net winnings (your total profit or loss from gameplay).
| Leaderboard | Resets | What It Tracks |
|---|---|---|
| All-Time | Never | Your cumulative net winnings across the lifetime of the app |
| Monthly | Start of each calendar month (00:00 UTC) | Net winnings for the current month only |
How Rankings Work
Your net winnings determine your position on each leaderboard. Every bet you win or lose updates your score. You can view your ranking and see how you compare to other players through the Game Center dashboard, accessible from the Game Center overlay in the app.
The all-time leaderboard reflects your entire history with True Count. The monthly leaderboard resets at the start of each calendar month (00:00 UTC), so rankings start fresh each month.
Monthly Resets
The monthly leaderboard gives every player a fresh start. Even if you are far behind on the all-time board, you can compete for the top spot each month.
Cross-Device Sync
All your game data syncs automatically across supported devices signed into the same Apple ID. In the current release, support is iPhone only, so your progress syncs across your iPhones.
Gameplay data sync (bankroll, statistics, and session history) is handled through iCloud. Game Center handles profile and leaderboard services.
What Syncs
| Data | Synced |
|---|---|
| Bankroll | Yes |
| Statistics | Yes |
| Session history | Yes |
| Leaderboard position | Yes |
Leaderboard rankings are managed entirely by Game Center and update automatically. Your bankroll, statistics, and session history sync through iCloud, so your data follows your Apple ID across devices.
Playing on Multiple Devices
If you play on more than one device, finish your session on one before starting on another. This ensures your data syncs cleanly between devices.
Simultaneous Play
Playing on two devices at the same time can cause a sync conflict. If this happens, the app resolves it by keeping the most recent session data. To avoid any issues, close the app on one device before opening it on another.
